Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC), together with Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has selected CityRise Interchange Homes LLP as a winning development partner for the residential mixed-use project in Stockport, UK.
The Stockport Interchange scheme involves the redevelopment of the existing bus station within Stockport town center, with the aim to create a mixed-use development that promotes both financial and regeneration benefits from the site. The project adopts a private rented sector commercial model and consists of around 196 units (2 bed and 1-bed units) with car parking spaces and commercial/amenity space. The Residential Development is part of a Mixed-Use scheme that also includes the construction of a transport Interchange, green public space and other additional ancillary infrastructure.
The selected development partner is required to provide investment and secure development funding, assist with design, and implement residential property and asset management. The contract is worth GBP40 million (US$54 million), and the concession period is 15 years.
