The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), a Nigerian government agency, has recently presented a full business case compliance certificate for a medical warehouse PPP project to the Minister of Health.

The project involves the operations and maintenance of two warehouses located in Lagos and Abuja which will function as pharmaceutical grade central storage hub for donated public health commodities.

Following the presentation, the Minister set up a task force to focus on the urgent application of the availability payment PPP model to the health sector in Nigeria. Pilot projects under consideration concern cancer centers, primary health care centers and mobile medical units.

The inaugural meeting of the task force, which is to be attended in person by the Minister, will be held on 13 September 2018.
