Fresenius Medical Care has formally opened the first of four dialysis facilities in the Kyrgyz Republic, built and operated under the first public-private partnership to be executed in the country. The opening ceremony took place in the city of Jalal-Abad.
Together with three other clinics (two in Bishkek and one in Osh), the facility will significantly improve the quality of services provided to Kyrgyz citizens with chronic renal failure (CRF). Within the framework of the PPP project, more than 280 patients will receive treatment in the company’s clinics.
The PPP agreement was signed in August 2017 between Fresenius Medical Care and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. It was prepared with the financial support of KfW and consultation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. Rebel served as financial and technical advisor for the transaction.
