The federal government in Brazil has awarded four leasing concessions of terminals located in the port of Cabedelo & Vitoria. The concessions were awarded through an auction held at Sao Paulo Stock Exchange. Out of four, three terminals in the port of Cabedelo are part of brown-field project and a terminal in port of Vitoria is a green-field project. The auction bidding was co-ordinated by the National Water Transportation Agency (Antaq).
Port Cabedelo terminal concession involves leasing of areas for handling, storage and distribution of fuels with a lease term of 25 years. Three terminals in Port Cabedelo AI-01, AE-10 and AE-11 were auctioned. The Northeast Consortium, represented by Active Brokerage, won all three concession of Port Cabedelo in the auction with offers of BRL 6 million (US$ 1.55 million), BRL 18 million (US$ 4.66 million) and BRL 30.5 million (US$ 7.89 million), respectively.
Port Vitoria terminal concession involves leasing of areas for handling, storage and distribution of fuels. This green-field project will have a lease term of 25 years. The area to be developed is approx. 74,000 square meters, which currently serves to move liquid bulk. The VIX30 terminal of port Vitoria was auctioned. The Navegantes Logística Consortium won the concession of VIX30 terminal with an offer of 165 million reais (US$ 42.70 million).
