Four proposals received for second concession of Chacalluta Airport

For the second concession of Chacalluta airport total, A total of four offers were submitted for the second concession of Chacalluta Airport.  Belfi, Icafal, A port SA and the consortium formed by Sacyr-Agunsa, were the teams interested in the  concession project.

The work contemplates an estimated investment of UF 2,031,000 (US$ 85 million) and the next step in this bidding process is the opening of economic offers scheduled for January 16, 2019. The award is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019 and works will begin in 2020. The project is expected to be completed in 2023.

The project consists of the expansion and improvement of the current Terminal Passenger Building. With additional 6,148 m2 area development the surface of the airport will be double, going from 5,352 m2 to 11,592 m2. With this development, it is expected that the airport can serve around 1,145,000 passengers per year. The work comprises of the installation of five new boarding bridges, which will replace the two existing bridges, as well as the increase of four to seven parking lots for aircraft and the extension of vehicular and pedestrian traffic to the interior of the airport to facilitate displacements in the enclosure.

Additionally, new aeronautical facilities will be built, such as control tower, administrative building, logistics building, SSEI building, and its platform, aeronautical electric substation, casino building, ARO building, Access control points and the installation of land fuel, among other works.

Chacalluta Airport is located 18 km north of the city of Arica, in the Region of Arica and Parinacota, northern Chile.  The concession includes the maintenance of all pre-existing and new works that the Concessionaire must execute within a specified area.
