Four contracts attract more than 20 interested parties in Public-Private Partnership

The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) has announced that over 20 parties have shown interest, with some already prequalified, for four upcoming Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects to be awarded by PROINVERSIÓN in Q4 of 2024, representing a total investment of US$ 2.067 billion.

The package, for the last stretch of 2024, includes:

  • Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4, with seven prequalified bidders, will benefit 1.6 million inhabitants of Junín, Huancavelica, Ica, Ayacucho and Apurímac. The project costs US$ 1,542 million and is aimed at the improvement, rehabilitation, construction and maintenance of the road for 25 years through a PPP, which brings together the companies Sacyr Concesiones SL, Concesionaria Vial del Centro, Obrascon Huarte Lain SA, China Communications Construction Company Ltd (Peru Branch), Consorcio Carretera de los Andes, Operadora Surperú SA and the R&R Consortium.
  • In late October 2024, Group 3 will also be awarded, which includes four transmission and electrical substation projects, which to date have five prequalified bidders to present technical and economic offers. The project will benefit 2.3 million people in Apurímac, Arequipa, Puno and Lima, at US$ 134 million and Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios SA, Celeo Redes SLU, Interconexión Eléctrica SAESP, Alupar Perú SAC and Eléctricas de Medellín Perú SA are prequalified.
  • The Operation and Maintenance project for the Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital (HEVES) is also underway with six prequalified bidders for the contract that is projected to be completed in December 2024. The process, in addition to ensuring that health services will remain free, will benefit more than 780,000 inhabitants south of Lima (Villa El Salvador, Lurín, Pachacamac, Pucusana and 5 other resorts) with improvements in infrastructure, equipment and hospital maintenance that will cost US$ 290 million. The bidders are Infrastructure Projects Concessionaire, Peru Branch; Equans Services Peru SA, Iberian Maintenance SA, Peru Branch; IBT Health LLC; Ortiz Construction and Projects SA, Peru Branch and Mexican Infrastructure Developer and Promoter, SA de CV.
  • Group 4 of electrical projects (includes three) with a cost of US$ 101 million and will benefit more than 700 million people in Ucayali, Junín and Áncash.
