Following the international public call for expressions of interest launched on January 18, 2018 to recruit a port operator, it has been recently announced that four companies were pre-qualified out of the ten bidders for the Douala Port Container Terminal concession. The shortlist of companies is the following:

The Dubai Ports World (Dp-World), an operator operating in several African ports, the world's third largest port operator with 49 terminals around the world.
The Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) and the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA International), a port operator that manages 28 ports in 16 countries in Asia, Europe and America.
