Ministry of Railways Development in Ghana has received four bids for the Tema port- Ouagadougou rail project. Out of 12 shortlisted firms, only four firms were successful in the submission of their qualification documents as requested by a Joint Evaluation Committee and a Transaction Advisor. The four bidding companies are China Railway Construction Engineering Limited, Frontline Consortium, China Railway Number 10 Consortium, and African Global Development.
The Tema port-Ouagadougou rail project involves the construction and operation of 549km railway line linking Tema Port, in the south-east of Ghana, to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The railway will pass through Akosombo, Ho, Hohoe, Yendi, Tamale and Paga in Ghana, and Dakola and Po in Burkina Faso, running alongside national highway number 5.
