Five consultants bid for North Shuaiba plant privatization in Kuwait

The government of Kuwait has received five proposals to provide transaction advisory services for the privatization of the North Shuaiba power and water plant. The dual-fuel combined-cycle plant is located in Kuwait city and has the capacity to produce 778 MW of electricity along with a desalination plant with the production capacity of 45 million imperial gallons a day (MIGD)/

The following five companies submit the proposals:

  1. Deloitte
  2. Engineering Systems Group
  3. EY (Ernst & Young)
  4. KPMG
  5. PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers)

The privatization process will be carried out in three phases. In phase 1 plant owner shareholder company will be established whose stake will be tendered in phase 2. Finally, shares and employees will be distributed in phase 3.
