The government of Puerto Rico has shortlisted 5 consortiums for the O&M contract for 9 regional airports in Puerto Rico. Total eight response was received in answer to RFQ issued by the authorities. The government shortlisted five companies AFCO AvPorts Managemente, Aport SA, Corporación América Airports, Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste and a consortium between AviAlliance GMBH and TBI Airport Management to participate in the next step in the bidding process.
The concession for the contract is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. The concession period is seven years and it may be extended three times for periods of one year. The concession includes operation and maintenance of nine (9) regional airports located at Arecibo, Aguadilla, Culebra, Vieques, Humacao, MayagOez, Ponce, Ceiba and San Juan.
