The ESR Group Limited has announced that it has achieved a US$1 billion first close for the Data Centre Fund 1, dedicated to the development of the data center business.

To co-invest in the fund, ESR will raise a separate discretionary capital sleeve, which is expected to close the fund's balance at the hard cap of US$1.5 billion. The partners also have the option to increase their equity commitment by an additional US$1.5 billion, which would eventually increase the total investment capacity to US$7.5 billion.
