Financial close for Maternity Block of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital PPP project in Accra

The Ministry of Finance in Ghana has reached financial close for the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital- Maternity Block concession located in Greater Accra. The hospital will feature 12-story 400-bed maternity and gynecological center along with 2-story 101 beds urology and nephrology center.

Standard Chartered Bank provided a loan of EUR145.2 million (US$156.09 million), which will be used to fund the maternity and gynecological block of the hospital. The urology and nephrology center will be funded by EUR38 million (US$40.78 million) loan from Raiffeisen Bank International with insurance cover of EUR4.6 million (US$4.93 million) from OeKB Group.

Apart from 400 beds the concession also includes the development of 20 labour delivery rooms, 100 seater waiting area, 26 recovery wards, 18 treatment rooms, 24 consulting rooms, 7 operation theatres, IVF services, 10 room accommodation for new mothers, 32 seater restaurant with preparation area and an emergency unit with separate operating theatre.
