Financial close was achieved for the EUR160 million (US$160 million) Paediatric and Maternal and Hospital at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara, Guyana. 

The project involves the design and construction of a 256-bed Specialised Paediatric and Maternal Hospital. Vamed Engineering will be responsible for the design and build part, while UK Export Finance (UKEF) will finance the project. The hospital will occupy an area of 24,000 m2 (main hospital building and technical support building), and will also include a visitors car park.

The project aims to upgrade the quality of services that we have been offering to children and high-risk mothers. The hospital will have in-patient and out-patient clinics and will carry an imaging suite with MRI, surgical and cardiac suite, including modern laboratories.
