Amea Power has achieved financial close for the 26.6 MWp Zina solar project in Burkina Faso.
Located in Zina, in the Boucle du Mouhoun region, the solar PV project is implemented in a public-private partnership (PPP) with the Government of Burkina Faso. The project has a 25 year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Société nationale d’électricité du Burkina Faso (SONABEL). Sinohydro is responsible for the construction of the PV plant.
The Zina PV farm is expected to generate enough energy to provide for 43,000 people while avoiding the emission of 13,200 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The state of Burkina Faso has signed a contract with Meridiam for a 30-year concession of the New International Airport of the country.
