The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has invited parties to submit their offers for the construction, rehabilitation, improvement, operation and maintenance of the La Dorada-Chiriguaná corridor for 10 years, with a planned investment of US$3.4 billion.
The successful bidder will have to carry out the rehabilitation of the railway track and the construction of an administrative building, an operations control center, two workshops for train maintenance and a cargo transfer center. In addition, they have to do maintenance and repair of the rolling stock. Among the most important social works are the construction of the vehicular and pedestrian bridge over the Sogamoso River in the municipality of Puerto Wilches and Barrancabermeja, and the relocation of two Educational Institutions Santo Domingo and San José, in Cimitarra. The railway corridor crosses the municipalities of La Dorada (Caldas); Sonsón, Puerto Triunfo, Cocorná, Puerto Nare and Puerto Berrío (Antioquia); Cimitarra, Puerto Parra, Simacota, Barrancabermeja, Puerto Wilches, Sabana de Torres and Rionegro (Santander); San Alberto, San Martín, Aguachica, Gamarra, La Gloria, Pelaya, Pailitas, Tamalameque, Chimichagua, Curumaní and Chiriguaná (Cesar).
The interested parties are requested to present their offers before November 14, 2024, and are awarded or declared void in December 2024.
