LINXS Constructors has completed the final structure of the automated people mover at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in California, USA.
The Automated People Mover (APM) is an electric train system on a 2.25-mile elevated guideway with 6 stations total (3 inside the Central Terminal Area (CTA) and 3 Outside). The APM will be free for users and anticipated the use by approximately 30 million passengers per year.
LINXS Constructors is a consortium made up by UK contractor Balfour Beatty, American engineer Fluor, Germany’s Hochtief, Spain’s ACS and France’s Bombardier Transportation have completed the construction.
The APM is designed to be LEED Gold Certified and is expected to be operational by Q1 of 2023.
