Alternative asset manager Gresham House has announced the final close of its second sustainable infrastructure fund at GBP450 million (USD550 Million).
The British Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (BSIF) II, along with its associated vehicles, has raised equity to address environmental and social challenges in the UK through real asset-based solutions. The fund aims to invest in tailored solutions for regional social and environmental issues. This includes investments in gigabit-capable broadband connectivity in Cornwall, innovative waste recycling initiatives in the North East, and vertical farming projects in Staffordshire and East Anglia.
BSIF II has garnered support from 12 investors, encompassing eight prominent local government pension schemes and four family offices. The BSIF strategy has a proven track record of delivering robust financial returns along with positive societal impact. Notably, BSIF I has exceeded its stated target return of 8-10%, achieving a net IRR of 16.2% as of June 2023.
