Final bids submitted for Mersey Gateway bridge

The Mersey Gateway Project has received final tenders from all three shortlisted bidders competing to deliver the project on behalf of Halton Borough Council.

The three shortlisted bidders are:

The winning bidder, to be announced in June, will take on a 30-year contract to design, build, finance and operate a toll bridge over the River Mersey between Runcorn and Widnes.

The value of the construction phase of the project, including land, is estimated at £600 million. The total project costs/revenues over the next 30 years will be around £2 billion.
