The Federal Government of Brazil has extended the re-bidding process for the Viracopos airport PPP project in Campinas by 24 months.
The bidding process for the terminal was expected to be published between July to September of this year, however, now it has been extended in order to provide more time to agree on the terms and conditions between the concessionaire and The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
According to the feasibility studies, the new contract for the administration of Viracopos will last for 30 years, with investments of BRL4.2 billion (US$814.63 million), a total value of BRL13.4 billion (US$2,59 billion), construction of a second runway and the end of the expropriation of areas for the expansion of the airport complex.
