The city of South San Francisco has launched a request for proposal (RFP) seeking a technical consultant to provide a feasibility study for Glydways Dynamic Personal Mass Transit System in the East of 101 Area of South San Francisco. Glydways is an autonomous mass transportation solution to address last-mile connectivity challenges in urban environments. The Glydways system uses energy-efficient electric vehicles, which operate on a dedicated facility (typically five- to six-foot-wide lanes) and does not typically mix with other roadway users ( vehicles, trucks, bicycles, and pedestrians) on City streets. The project will serve an approximately 1.36-mile transportation system addressing the last-mile transportation needs between Oyster Point (South San Francisco Ferry Terminal) and regional transit stations in South San Francisco.
The consultant will provide a comprehensive analysis of the infrastructure, engineering, and financial feasibility of the Glydways system in the City. The consultant should analyze the projected revenue of the system and its ability to cover operating and capital expenses, consider costs that are hard to capture, as well as recommendations for implementing cost recovery policies.
The deadline to submit the proposals was October 02, 2020. You can find more information about the procurement in RFP document.
