The Bogotá Metro Company (EMB) and the National Development Bank (FDN) have signed an inter-administrative contract to conduct the comprehensive structuring of the construction project for Line 2 of the Bogotá metro. The new line will connect Line 1 from Calle 72 with Avenida Caracas to the Fontanar del Río sector in Suba, passing through Engativá, which will benefit two million people.
The signed contract is worth COP72,353 million (US$19.69 million) and will allow to continue with feasibility studies, including determining the demand, the environmental and social impact, urban planning and landscaping, the type of trains and wagons, the stations and buildings of the system and the investment and operating costs, etc.
