In light of COVID-19 Facebook is reconsidering its commitment to sponsor the studies of the Dumbarton Transportation Corridor project in California.

Facebook, Plenary Group and SamTrans have partnered to study the reactivation of the Dumbarton rail line. If reactivated the line would be a second mass transit option in the Bay area between Redwood City and Newark. The partnership of the companies is called "Cross Bay Transit Partners," and it was to study the environmental and fiscal impact and feasibility of the rebuilding of the line.

Plenary Group is still committed to the project. The executive chairman of Plenary said: "There is a significant need and growing support for efforts to re-activate the Dumbarton Rail Corridor. Plenary remains committed to exploring various options for continuing the critical predevelopment work that is well underway."
