The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment of Ireland has awarded an advisory contract to Ernst and Young for the development of the National Broadband Plan (NBP).
The Commercial and Financial Managed Services, Advisory Services, and Personnel in support of the National Broadband Plan contract is valued at about EUR3.9 million (US$4.6 million). The services include the commercial, financial, and modeling advisory and managed services and personnel to support the delivery, including contract governance, of the national broadband plan.
The NBP project will roll out fiber-to-the-home technology to guarantee minimum speeds of 150Mb/s increasing to a minimum 500Mb/s by year 11 – with customers able to choose packages of up to 1Gb/s.
