The Government of Ukraine has announced an experimental launch of the Grain terminal project at Odesa seaport.
At the first stage, the terminal's capacity will be 70,000 tons. Upon completion of construction in 3 stages, the complex will consist of 33 tanks for 241 thousand tons of grain. The terminal has a berth with a length of 254 m and a depth at the quay wall of 13.5 m, which will allow loading grain onto panamax class vessels with a carrying capacity of up to 60,000 tons. The annual design capacity of the complex is 4 million tons of grain per year. About 300 new jobs have been created at the terminal.
The volume of investments is US$125 million, of which US$95 million is the funds of investors. The Government of Ukraine plans to complete the construction of the complex in 2014.
