The government of Estonia will discuss the first road project procured on public-private partnership (PPP) mode during Cabinet meeting in June. It will decide on the preparation and announcement of the procurement of the test project. The test project will include works of four lanning a 21-kilometer section of the Tallinn-Parnu road between Libatse and Are. The project was chosen in December 2019 to be procured on PPP mode.
Currently, the preliminary design and environmental impact assessment for the road project is underway. The government is expecting to complete the land purchases by 2022. If the government will decide to move ahead with PPP procurement, the project will be implemented on a design-build-finance-maintain contract.
