Zambia’s Ministry of Energy has invited consulting firms to express interest in the preparation of a 40MW wind project under its Scaling-up Renewable Energy Programme.

The project encompasses the following services:

  • Conduct technical assessments for 3 potential sites selected from the eight sites evaluated during the ESMAP resource assessment program.
  • Perform comprehensive feasibility studies for a single viable site designated for the construction of a 40 MW grid-connected wind power plant.
  • Carry out due diligence concerning the establishment of the regulatory framework for wind development.
  • Create a techno-economic report for the envisioned wind project.

These tasks are to be completed within a five-month period from the contract award. The Republic of Zambia has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Wind Power Promotion Project.

Expressions of Interest must be delivered to the address by September 22, 2023. More information about this tender can be found on our Business Opportunity page here
