Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has announced the list of interested companies that submitted EOIs for the Jubail 4&6 Independent Water Project (IWP) to be designed using Reverse Osmosis seawater desalination technology in Saudi Arabia.
A total of 35 companies including 16 Saudi companies expressed their interest in the Project as follows: Abengoa Agua S.A., Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), Acciona Agua, ACWA Power, Ajlan & Bros Holding, Al Kawther Industries Co. Ltd; Al Shalawi, Al Sharif Group Holding, Alfanar Company, Alghanim International General Trading and Contracting Co. W.L.L; Aljomaih Energy and Water Company, Awad Saad Binzafrah Contracting Co. Ltd; Buhur for Investment Co; China First Heavy Industries International Development Co., Ltd (CFHI), Elecnor Group, Fas Energy, Fisia Italimpianti S.p.A, GS Inima, Hainan Litree Purifying Technology Co. Ltd; Kahrabel FZE (Engie Middle East), Kindasa Water Services, Lantania Aguas, Marubeni Corporation, Metito Utilities Limited, Mowah Company CJSC, Nesma Company Ltd; Orascom Construction, Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq), Saleh Saeed Taishan and Sons, Saudi Pan Kingdom Company (SAPAC), Shapoorji Pallonji, Utico FZC, VA TECH WABAG LTD, Veolia Middle East and Vishvaraj Environment Pvt Ltd.
SWPC plans to initiate a competitive tender procedure to choose a private sector developer or a developer consortium that will undertake the responsibility of developing, financing, procuring, implementing, operating, and maintaining the project. Upon selection, the successful bidder will establish a project company and execute the development of the project, while vending the complete capacity and production to SWPC under a 25-year concession through a Water Purchase Agreement (WPA).
