The Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) has closed the expression of interest (EOI) process for the public-private partnership (PPP) of the Port of Spain (PoS) handling operations in Trinidad and Tobago.

The EOI was created with the aim to promote and foster competition in the development of new business prospects and income streams for the Port Authority and the potential partner.

The PPP project, which was first announced in 2020, aims at improving the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago's (PATT) ability to deliver services and could bring in up to US$200 million in investments from the private sector. The EOI process was started in August 2021.
