The Ministry of Energy has requested Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local and International firms to develop Waste-to-Energy (WTE) power plants in the provincial headquarters and other key towns in Zambia.
The tasks encompass conducting thorough feasibility assessments to determine WTE power plants' technical, financial, economic, and environmental feasibility. This includes negotiating a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ZESCO or another off-taker. Additionally, the scope involves the design, construction, financing, operation, and transfer (DBFOT) of a Waste-to-Energy Project within an agreed concession period for electricity generation.
