The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) and the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) have declared the PTAR Chincha project of public interest.
The Chincha WWTP requires a reference investment of US$ 96.5 million for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of approximately 21 km of main collection networks and pumping lines, a pumping station, two new wastewater treatment plants with an average capacity of 0.6 cubic meters per second in total, as well as 7.7 km of lines for the final disposal of treated wastewater. More than 340,000 residents of Chincha Alta, Chincha Baja, Grocio Prado, Pueblo Nuevo, Alto Larán, Sunampe and Tambo de Mora will be benefited.
The State will co-finance the entire investment and part of the operation and maintenance component of the project through the Ministry of Housing, Sanitation and Construction (MCVS). The structuring of the Chincha WWTP has had the technical assistance of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the concession will be for 24 years: four for the design, financing and construction and 20 for operation and maintenance.
Following the publication of the declaration of interest, interested third parties will have 90 calendar days to submit their EOI in the execution of the project. If within the indicated period one or more third parties appear, PROINVERSIÓN will proceed with the selection process or, otherwise (if no interested party appears), the project will be awarded directly to the proponent who has experience and international recognition in the operation of wastewater treatment plants.
