The National Infrastructure Agency has granted the environmental license to functional unit 4 of Colombia's 5G New Malla Vial del Valle del Cauca Project.
This environmental clearance allows for the construction of a second road from the municipality, connecting Jamundí (Bonanza sector) to the Ye de Villarica sector, continuing the works in Functional Unit 3 – Avenida Bicentenario. This section includes 9.7 km of new dual carriageway and 15.6 km road rehabilitation. The New Malla Vial del Valle del Cauca project aims to improve connectivity between the main towns of Valle del Cauca and Cauca, reducing travel times and costs for users.
The New Road Network of Valle del Cauca - Cali-Palmira Access was the first project awarded under the Bicentennial Concessions program. It involves constructing, improving, and rehabilitating 310 km of road, connecting Buga in Valle del Cauca with Santander de Quilichao in Cauca. The project is 8.64% complete and includes building 16.5 km of dual carriageway and 11.52 km of new second carriageway, along with the enhancement of 291.43 km of existing roads. The project has secured financial closure with US$1.5 billion in senior debt from Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN), Bancolombia, and FCP Deuda Infraestructura II Sura - Credicorp Capital. This project has a construction investment of US$2.28 billion.
