Enet, Ireland's telecommunications network provider, has announced an investment of over EUR50 million (US$49 million) in fiber optic networks in several locations in Ireland.
The expansion of fiber optic networks at the national level will increase the availability of high-bandwidth data transmission for data center connectivity, mobile data traffic and mission-critical business traffic. The investment will also create an opportunity for direct connection to Enet's vast telecommunications network for network operators and commercial premises.

The company is building and operating the alternative wholesale telecoms network in Ireland, facilitating the delivery of broadband and wireless services to homes and businesses nationwide across Ireland. Between January and May 2022, Enet expanded its Dublin Metro network by over 18.5 km at Dublin 6 and Westmoreland Street in Dublin 2.
