Infrastructure Ontario has announced that it has awarded a fixed-price contract of CAD239 million (US$178.5 million) to EllisDon Infrastructure Transit (EDIT) to design, build and finance the Rutherford Station project.
Rutherford Station is located in Vaughan, in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, south-east Canada. It is part of the GO Transit network, a regional public transit system in southern Ontario.
The project includes a new multi-level parking structure with an integrated station building, in addition to a re-design of the surface parking, kiss and ride, and bus loop. The project also brings improved pedestrian access, new rail platforms, and a second heavy rail track and provision for future third express center track, as well as a rail/road grade separation on Rutherford Road.

EllisDon has concurrently announced that EDIT has achieved financial close of the contract.
EDIT will commence design work now, with construction beginning in spring 2019 and completion expected in 2023.
