The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) of Bahrain has received applications from eleven firms in response to the prequalification notice for the Bahrain metro concession.

The successful bidder will be responsible for the design, build, finance, operation, maintenance and transfer of the 109 km long metro line network. The project will be implemented in four phases. First Phase involves the development of two metro lines with a length of around 28.6 km and 20 stations. The concession period will be 35 years.
Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications of Bahrain is seeking a technical consultant to study the feasibility of extending the Bahrain metro corridor from King Hamad Railway Station at Alramli area to the new sports City and the International Exhibition Centre at Sakhir area.
