The Government of Change has commissioned the El Alambrado bridge, which allows the restoration of mobility between Quindío and Valle del Cauca in Colombia.
Following the abrupt bridge collapse, the National Government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation, the National Infrastructure Agency, and the concessionaire Autopistas del Café, proposed the installation of a new metal structure bridge. This new bridge, weighing 580 tons and measuring 102 m in length and 17 m in height, was transported and assembled over the La Vieja River. The old bridge was dismantled within two months, and the construction of the new El Alambrado bridge was completed in just four months.
This crucial route facilitates the transportation of various goods, including solid bulk items like wheat, corn, and soybeans, as well as fertilizers, cement, sugar, rice, fuels, and their derivatives.
