The Energy Infrastructure Partners AG (EIP) has announced the acquisition of Credit Suisse AG’s 30% stake in EIP by co-founders and managing partners of EIP.
The transaction enables EIP's growth plan at a time of high energy infrastructure demand and strengthens the company's independence by consolidating EIP's shareholder group around its co-founders and managing partners. EIP's ongoing investment or asset management activity and existing vehicles will remain unchanged and Credit Suisse will remain an important EIP partner, providing bespoke vehicles to serve Swiss pension funds.
The deal is part of the expansion of EIP around the world. Until 2020, EIP and Credit Suisse acted as a joint venture, then EIP conducted independent asset and fund management activities in Switzerland and Luxembourg.
