The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) has announced that eight bidders have pre-qualified in the comprehensive project competition for the Peru Carretera Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4 concession.
The Carretera Longitudinal de la Sierra project, Section 4, requires an estimated investment of US$ 934 million and is scheduled to be awarded in Q2 of 2024. Covering more than 900 km, the project will link the regions of Junín, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Apurímac, and Ica, with 727 km allocated for periodic maintenance, 180 km for rehabilitation and improvement, and the construction of a 5 km San Clemente bypass in Ica. The remaining kilometers will be transferred to the sector for operation and maintenance from the start of the concession, to ensure optimal walkability, comfort, and safety for users. The rehabilitation, operation, and maintenance of this extensive road network will establish efficient connectivity between beneficiary cities and towns, facilitating the movement of goods and services and stimulating commerce, productivity, industrial activity, and tourism in each area.
