Eiffage has announced that it has acquired 5.03% of the capital of Eurotunnel SE (Getlink). Getlink operates three tunnels under the Channel, the body of water that separates southern England from northern France, and two terminals under a concession agreement ending in 2086.
The stake represents 4.33% of voting rights on the basis of 550,000,000 shares and 639,310,894 voting rights as published by Getlink on 7 December 2018.
Eiffage intends to be a long-term investor of Getlink and reserves the possibility of continuing its purchases depending upon market conditions.
This EUR307.5 million (US$352.4 million) investment has been financed by Eiffage through its available cash reserves.
