The European Investment Bank (EIB) has launched a tender process to receive technical and financial offers for management of the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund (CEBF).
The EIB in cooperation with the European Commission (EC) is in the process of designing, structuring and setting up the fund with the aim of contributing to and enhancing the roll-out of wireline and wireless next generation access networks (NGA or NGN) and ancillary telecom infrastructure in the EU.
CEBF would close the existing funding gap in the market through financing of broadband infrastructure investments both via direct financing to: private sector; publicly owned companies, public and private partnerships, and via financial intermediaries.
Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before August 7.
