The European Investment Bank (EIB) is analyzing to invest DKK560 million (US$81.5 million) in Copenhagen Infrastructure II.
The infrastructure fund will invest in large energy-related projects. The fund targets mezzanine and equity-type investments primarily in greenfield energy-related projects with a focus on offshore wind, biomass, and electricity transmission, mainly in Northern and Western Europe.

In mid February the EIB had agreed to provide £51 million (US$78 million) backing for the Gwynt y Môr offshore transmission link, located in the Wales coast. The offshore transmission link includes two offshore substations, and over 120km of high-voltage transmission cables, as well as a new substation at St Asaph Business Park.
