The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) have provided EUR 215 million (US$232.8 million) in financing to Academo Srl to design, build and operate the University of Milan's science and technology campus in the Milano Innovation District (MIND), Italy.

The University of Milan has given the contract to Academo Srl, a project company founded by Lendlease and the Equiter Infrastructure II fund (managed by Ersel AM), to design, construct, and run its scientific and technology campus in the MIND. The objective is to assist in the development of new teaching areas for researchers and university students as a component of a larger urban renewal project in Milan that is focused on environmental sustainability. This finance is the last phase of Lendlease's operation planning phase, which entails a total investment of over EUR 450 million (US$ 487.4 million).

One of the direct loans based on project finance is part of the EUR 215 million (US$232.8 million) in fresh funding. This is divided into two parts: a EUR 95 million (US$ 103 million) first tranche from the EIB and another EUR 95 million (US$ 103 million) from CDP that was also supplied by the EIB. Transferring teaching and research department activities as part of the institution's overall development program will allow the University to create an innovative campus that unites multidisciplinary scientific skills in one location. This transformational operation is of strategic importance for the city of Milan.
