The Ministers of Finance, Education and Higher Education of Egypt are collaborating to develop 1,000 language schools across the country through public-private partnerships (PPPs).

The PPPs will be structured to contract the funding, designing, and construction of the schools to private parties, with a contract period of 12 to 15 years. The schools will be completed in three phases, with an estimated investment of up to EGP5 billion (~US$280 million).

The first phase will involve the development of 54 schools, while the second phase will see the establishment of 200 more schools.

The Minister of Finance confirmed that procedures to prepare the tenders of the projects are in action. The government will invite companies and private entities to participate in the bidding process in the first quarter of 2019.
