A consortium of Siemens Mobility and Bilfinger UK has won an eleven-year contract extension to maintain the Edinburgh Trams infrastructure network.
The GBP 44.7 million (US$ 56.7 million) contract, extending to 2035, covers the maintenance of the track, overhead electrification, SCADA, and signaling on the 18.5 km line. Siemens Mobility, maintaining Edinburgh's tram infrastructure since 2014, played a key role in the recent extension to Newhaven, bringing tram service to the area for the first time in over 65 years.
