The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) plans to start a tender process for the E10/RV 85 Hålogalandsvegen PPP project in May. The project involves the development of an 82 km road network between the towns of Sortland, Harstad and Evenes in Northern Norway, which include 27 kilometers of road through seven tunnels. 35 km will be built on the existing road line, while the remaining 20 km will be laid on the new road line. The PPP contract includes the following four sections:

  • RV 85 from the Sigerfjord tunnel to Gullesfjordbotn
  • E10 from Gullesfjordbotn to Tjelsund bridge
  • RV 83 from Tjeldsundbrua to Fauskevåg
  • RV 85 from Kåringen to Fiskefjord

The decision about project financing will be made during the spring of 2021, leading to the tender's opening in May. The project will be implemented under the Design, Finance, Build and Operate delivery model. The concession period for the road network is up to 25 years. The contract is expected to be signed in early 2023.
