The Public Works Department of Miami-Dade County, south-east Florida, has published a draft Request for Proposals for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a civil and probate courthouse in the county following a hybrid model. The deadline for the submission of proposals is July 20, 2018.
The courthouse will contain 46 courtrooms at completion, with the ability to accommodate the expansion to a total of 50 courtrooms by the year 2035 through the repurposing of either restricted space, public space or interim use space. The latter which may initially be designed as shell space, finished space for interim use by other county departments or judicial storage.
