The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has sought a private partner to manage mobility projects such as the Metro Rail Transit 3 and the EDSA busway.
The operations and maintenance (O&M) of the EDSA Busway and MRT-3 rail line will be up for privatization with the former's feasibility study, which should be completed in a few months and is expected to be awarded by the end of 2026. The agency is working with the PPP Center and Asian Development Bank to evaluate the best option for the MRT-3. Currently, there are unsolicited proposals filed with the DOTr from private groups like the Metro Pacific Investments Corp. for the management of the MRT-3.
