The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that the Philippines’ first cable car system may be operational by 2028.
The Antipolo Cable Car Project will link the Taytay station of MRT-4 to Antipolo City. The project's cost and passenger capacity will be determined through a detailed feasibility study in 2025. Bidding is expected to occur in 2026 after the study's completion, with construction taking up to two years and the system becoming operational in 2028. The Asian Development Bank funded the pre-feasibility study and will also finance the feasibility study in 2025.
