Digital Colony, a global investment firm dedicated to strategic opportunities in digital infrastructure, announced further growth of its UK platform through the acquisition of Spyder Facilities Limited, a leading UK wireless infrastructure company with over 5,000 locations available for wireless transmission technologies including the latest 5G rollout. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Spyder is a wireless infrastructure developer and owner, providing a fast track network roll out solution for mobile operators. Established in 1998 Spyder has developed its own nationwide infrastructure portfolio providing operators a single point of contact for a fully managed turnkey process from initial design and construction to technology upgrade and on-going management. Spyder customers include all UK mobile network operators.

Digital Colony’s UK platform currently includes StrattoOpencell, the leading UK in-building service provider having delivered over 3,000 radio nodes across 150 sites offering full multi-operator service, and iWireless Solutions, a leading service provider that delivers outdoor small cell and wireless connectivity solutions to some of the largest and highest profile venues in the UK including smart cities, transport hubs, stadia, airports, tunnels and large-scale campuses. The addition of Spyder compliments the UK platform and positions it to offer an even wider range of services to mobile network operators and real estate owners.
