Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has issued a request for proposals for Hassyan desalination project.
The capacity of the plant will be120 million imperial gallons of seawater per day (MIGD) using reverse osmosis technology.
The project is the first independent water project (IWP) in Dubai. Ernst&Young, WSP and CMS are advising the contracting authority on the project. DEWA will hold 60% participation in the project company. The project will have a 30-year water purchase agreement.
The deadline for submission of proposals is on January 30.
