Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) of UAE has awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to Utico for the development and construction of a water reservoir at Hassyan in Dubai. The project will have a capacity of 120 million imperial gallons/ day (MIGD) and will involve electro-mechanical and SCADA works for the reservoir. The total cost of the project is US$80 million.
This contract is awarded as additional works to the Hassyan desalination PPP project, which applies reverse osmosis for seawater desalination. The Independent Water Project (IWP) is expected to be completed by March 2024.
